Excellence in Leadership: a Distinguished District SIX years in a row: 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08!

District Structure

Our District is structured like an inverted triangle. The widest part of the triangle is at the top and represents the individual members, the reason for the Toastmasters Program. Each member belongs to a club (some toastmasters belong to more than one).

Each club is a member of an Area. Four to six clubs that are located in geographical proximity make up a typical Area. Each Area is numbered and has an Area Governor to assist clubs with their Distinguished Club Plans, run area contests, and communicate with the rest of the district.

Each Area is a member of a Division. Six Areas that are located in geographical proximity make up a typical Division. Each Division is represented by a letter and has a Division Governor to assist Area Governors with making their goals, run division contests, and assist District Officers with meeting district goals.

At the bottom of the triangle, serving the Divisions, the Areas, and the Clubs are the District Officers and staff members. District Officers and staff run TLI, district conferences, control the budget, conduct business meetings and set theyearly theme and goals for the district. They also communicate with Toastmasters International and participate in Regional and International events.
