Dr. Ralph C. Smedley, founder of Toastmasters International, established the first Toastmasters club in 1924 to create a supportive environment for developing communication skills. His vision has grown into a global network impacting millions. The Smedley Membership Building Program honors his legacy by encouraging clubs to grow their membership from August 1 to September 30, 2024.
To qualify for the Smedley Award, each club must add five (5) new, dual, and/or reinstated members during this period. Achieving this goal will enhance our community and offer invaluable skills and networking opportunities to new members.
Here's how you can help our district succeed:
- Invite New Members: Reach out to friends, family, and colleagues who could benefit from Toastmasters.
- Renew Your Membership: Ensure your membership is up to date by renewing before September 30th.
- Spread the Word: Promote your club's activities on social media, at work, and in your community.
