Public Relations Objectives:

As the Public Relations Manager for District 36 Toastmasters, our mission for the 2024-2025 Toastmasters year involves fostering communication and engagement within the district, between clubs, members, local communities, and the global audience. Here are 10  objectives that can guide our PR efforts:

 1. Enhance Brand Awareness

Aim is to elevate District 36's presence across all channels, including its website, social media, and physical or virtual events. Consistency in messaging is key to building the Toastmasters brand across local and global audiences.

 2. Boost Member Engagement

Strengthen engagement with existing members by promoting their stories, achievements, and milestones through newsletters, oral narratives, and social media shoutouts. You can also highlight individual clubs and their initiatives, making members feel valued and involved.

3. Drive New Membership

Utilize platforms like **Meetup** to attract new members by showcasing the value Toastmasters offers in communication and leadership development. Craft content that resonates with potential members, and ensure they are directed to a well-designed, informative website.

4. Support Clubs through Communications

Collaborate with club VPPRs to support their communication efforts, offering guidance on promoting events, increasing visibility, and using district-approved resources like **Canva graphics** and email templates.

 5. Utilize Social Media for Outreach

Expand your reach by boosting **social media engagement**. Your District 36 Toastmasters presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube should actively highlight district news, promote club activities, and celebrate member achievements. Calls-to-action, like "Tag a Toastmaster," can increase interactivity.

 6. Deliver Timely Information

Through your **email communications** (via MailChimp) and newsletters, keep the district informed about important updates, event invitations, and achievements. Regular, consistent communication ensures transparency and keeps members engaged.

 7. Highlight Virtual Leadership

Given the shift to virtual leadership, introduce workshops and discussions to help Toastmasters leaders adapt to virtual environments. This could involve exploring how to build, lead, and influence teams remotely. Emphasize that leadership today can transcend physical locations.

8. Capture and Share Stories

Through your **Oral Narrative** initiative, gather and share inspiring stories from members and clubs across the district. Personal stories resonate deeply with both existing and potential members, building a sense of community.

9.  Meetup Platform for Club VPPRs:

Encouraging Club VPPRs to create accounts on **Meetup.com** and join the District 36 Meetup group can significantly enhance member recruitment and club visibility. VPPRs who serve as Event Hosts on Meetup will have the autonomy to:

- Edit or cancel club events.

- Adjust meeting locations as needed.

- Communicate with Meetup members directly to drive engagement and interest.

To get involved and promote their clubs more effectively, VPPRs are encouraged to email **publicrelations@district36.org** for further details on how to join and manage events on the platform.

10. Foster Continuous Improvement

Establish **PR Office Hours** to allow VPPRs to consult with you for specific advice and guidance. By being available to assist clubs in their PR strategies, you’ll encourage growth and improvement across the district.
