District 36 Council Annual Business Meeting

Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2-5 PM via Zoom Registration

Description

The District 36 Council Annual Business Meeting will occur on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2-5 PM EDT via Zoom (Teleconference). During the meeting, we will vote to elect 2022-2023 district officers, accept the proposed alignment of clubs for the 2022-2023 year, accept the Mid-Year Audit Committee report, and approve district officers appointed after the Fall District Council meeting. Club Presidents, Vice Presidents Education, and District Executive Committee members get one vote each.

Open District Leadership Positions

Qualified candidates may run from the floor for any position for which the District Leadership Committee (DLC) did not nominate the required number of candidates. Qualified candidates must notify the District Director seven (7) days prior to the Annual Business Meeting Elections of their intent to run from the floor. Any nominations made by the DLC are valid. Elections are scheduled for May 15, 2022.


Those positions open for qualified floor candidates for District 36 are:

Club Growth Director
Division Director


A floor candidate’s intent to run deadline is May 8, 2022. A completed Candidate Biography, photograph and the Officer Agreement and Release Statement must be submitted by that date and given to the District Director. These forms can be found on the District 36 website under District Leader Nominations.


At the business meeting, floor candidates must be nominated by a member of the District Council. Floor candidates can self-nominate if they are a member of the District Council.


District 36 will hold a Candidate Showcase for all candidates on May 4, 2022. If a qualified floor candidate has declared an intent to run to the District Director by April 29, 2022, the qualified floor candidate can be included in the Showcase.

 

 

Reminders

A quorum of the Council is required to approve the budget and all appointed district officers. If we do not have a quorum, an additional online voting period after the meeting will occur in order to conduct the necessary business of the Council.

Proxy votes are NOT ALLOWED for this meeting.  Each district council member must cast their vote(s). District Executive Committee members are entitled to one vote and may cast up to two additional votes as a Club President or Vice President Education.

District 36 Fall Council Business Meeting

Description

The District 36 Council Fall Business Meeting occurred on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 2-5PM EDT via Zoom (Teleconference). During the meeting, we voted to approve the district budget and the list of appointed district officers. Club Presidents, Vice Presidents Education, and District Executive Committee members each had one vote to cast.
